Erik ten Hag’s long-term future at Manchester United is under some doubt, with the Red Devils enduring a disappointing season so far.

There’s been mixed claims in the UK over the manager’s future after Manchester United failed to win their last two games after conceding late goals.

While Ten Hag has insisted he will be at Manchester United next season, Gazzetta dello Sport have decided to throw in Bologna manager Thiago Motta as a candidate to replace him.

The front page report claims the Brazilian is on Juventus’ radar and that Manchester United also want him now.

Within the lengthy report, they focus on impressive work done by the 41-year-old at the Serie A side and whether he could leave them after this season.

To give you context, Motta has a Harley Davidson motorcycle and Gazzetta ask whether that’ll be spotted in Bologna, Turin or in Manchester next season.

As of now, Motta hasn’t made a decision on his future and his agent, Alessandro Canovi, has been repeating the same line for weeks.

Although Gazzetta’s front page says Manchester United want him, there isn’t anything concrete within the huge report to back it up.

They hardly mention the Red Devils and in fact, state that Motta has been ‘linked to Manchester United’.

The newspaper states it can’t be ruled out that Motta is learning English and this could be because of the Manchester United links.

That’s a good example of how forced this whole story feels, and that Manchester United are being used to hype Motta.

Gazzetta should have probably used Liverpool instead, since the manager’s agent said this week that the Reds vacancy is a good opportunity.
