Given a few minutes here and there by Erik ten Hag this season, Facundo Pellistri is doing what he can to convince the Manchester United manager to rely on him.

He’s some way off doing that permanently for the time being, but that doesn’t mean the Red Devils don’t believe in the Uruguay international, as they want to keep him around.

Journalist César Luis Merlo took to Twitter on Monday to reveal that Manchester United’s top chiefs will hold ‘a meeting’ with Pellistri’s agent ‘next week’.

As things stand, the Premier League club have already let the player’s representative know that they want to ‘improve his contract’ at Old Trafford, with the current deal set to expire in June of 2025.

That gives them plenty of time, but it appears they want to strike early, and the upcoming sit-down with Pellistri’s agent will see Manchester United ‘go into depth’ in issues regarding the winger’s wages and the ‘duration of the new relationship’.

Therefore, it seems Erik ten Hag is in agreement with those above to keep working on the forward, who has made eight appearances in all competitions for the first-team this season, picking up one assist along the way.
