In every transfer window for the past couple of years, we’ve seen Torino protecting themselves from losing striker Andrea Belotti.
The situation gets a little more critical this summer, since the player’s contract with the Serie A side expires in 2022, and that could force them to sell him now instead of losing him for free next year.
Calciomercato is the outlet explaining this situation today, and when listing the suitors who could land Belotti, there are the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur named.
The Red Devils and Spurs are said to be the clubs from abroad who have ‘set their eyes’ on the striker, but they face competition other Italian giants, and that’s why ‘offers aren’t lacking’ for him this summer.
Belotti’s reason not to stay at Torino is said not to be economical, but of ambition, since he’d like to be featuring in top leagues as soon as possible, because right now, all he has is a battle against relegation in Serie A.
But since the renewal isn’t completely ruled out by the player, Torino shall try to convince him to stay for at least one more year, promising they’d sell him in 2022 in case the club fail to qualify for European competitions.
Calciomercato doesn’t say how much the likes of Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur would need to sign the Italian, but previous reports suggest he could be available for as little as €25m.
