A couple of Italian websites are today running a story about a Manchester United approach for the Milan striker Krzystof Piatek.
Both Pianeta Milan and Calcio Mercato says the rumours came from England this morning, although nothing can be found in the local press.
They claim that according to these reports, the Red Devils are keen on pursuing a new striker in January, after failing to sign the likes of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic in the summer.
Pianet Milan writes that Piatek is not for sale, but the Rossoneri could change their mind in case a good bid arrives. That would mean at least €40m or €50m in the January window.
Piatek has two goals in his six games for Milan this season. He was signed from Genoa in January this year, and had some quick impact in the team, with 11 goals in 21 matches in his first six months at the club.
Now we wonder if this rumour really had a good original source which we’ve failed to find. Barcelona have been linked to the player earlier this week, but Manchester United interest would be something new.
It’s good for the player’s profile, though.
