Manchester United have reportedly started talks for the signing of the Brazilian left-back Guilherme Arana.
The 19-year-old, who had already been linked to Tottenham Hotspur a few weeks ago, is one of Corinthians’ biggest prospects and shouldn’t last long at the club.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Arana’s agent has been in the Red Devils’ facilities to initiate the negotiations for the signing.
Corinthians are currently living through a bad financial moment, so we reckon it shouldn’t be much hard for United to take the player if the interest is genuine. But the currency decline of sterling means he won’t be as cheap as one year ago.
Tutto Mercato Web’s first article about the Tottenham chase had been exactly like this Manchester United one. They said the player’s entourage would be meeting with the club officials.
Hours later, they said the meeting had gone well and things should advance. Let’s see if they show up with an update today. It doesn’t seem too hard to figure out who their source is.
In case you don’t have a clue about who Arana is, you should read this introduction we have about him. The Brazilian season is coming to an end, so even a January move wouldn’t be surprising.
