When English clubs are linked to Brazilian players, people normally think it’s another skilful wonderkid who’s expected to be the new Ronaldinho. But this is not the case of Guilherme Arana, who according to the Italian media is wanted by Tottenham.

Although the Corinthians left-back is still fighting for a place in the team, he’s already a fan favourite, and he’s been showing enough potential to become a vital player in the near future.

Arana’s attacking abilities are by far his biggest qualities, as his speed and passing have been calling attention from those who watch him. He’s frequently getting into the opponent’s box, and that’s why he needs to keep working more on his crosses and shots.

However, in common with most Brazilian fullbacks, Arana has some difficulty when defending. He has improved a lot in the past few months, but would still struggle to stop wide attacks in the Premier League.

He has already been on loan at Atlético Paranaense last year, but Corinthians now want to keep him in the squad and he’s set to be more used as time goes by.

At only 19, the player shows a lot of potential in a club where the pressure has spoiled several youngsters’ development in the past. He’s shown a strong personality so far, something that’s very important at Corinthians, who certainly won’t make things easy for Tottenham to get him.

TMW had claimed that Tottenham held a meeting on Tuesday with the player’s entourage, to talk about a possible transfer.
