Daley Blind went off for Manchester United against Rostov on Thursday night not looking like he knew exactly what was going on. Blind took a knock to the head and it was soon apparent Manchester United would take no chances, with Phil Jones brought on to replace the Dutchman.

At a time when Jose Mourinho is picking up injury worries and suspensions at a faster rate than he’d like, Blind’s situation is another worry. Perhaps not first choice for big Manchester United matches, Blind’s versatility is useful for the Portuguese manager.

Therefore, the Manchester United manager will be pleased with comments from Blind’s father, Netherlands manager Danny Blind. Quted by De Telegraaf, Blind Sr. explained: “I have spoken to him as a father and as a coach, and I can tell you that all is well with him.”

Manchester United face Middlesbrough at the weekend before the international break, with Blind in the Netherlands squad despite playing a smaller role at Old Trafford this season.
