Manchester United are a ‘serious candidate’ for VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy as the race for his signature continues to heat up.
That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who say Manchester United could provide competition to Bayern Munich for the in-form striker.
Guirassy is the ‘whiz kid’ of the Bundesliga this season, with 17 goals in the first half of the season making him one of the top goal scorers in Europe and on the radar of several clubs this month thanks to a more than affordable release clause.
Bayern are one of them, with Fussball Transfers covering a report from Sport BILD that states that he is one of the names on their list.
They doubt that is a move he would want, though, as he would be forced to sit on the bench behind Harry Kane and he’s made it clear before now that he’d love to play in the Premier League.
That’s an idea which has been growing over the last month or so, with them first linked with a move at the end of November and consistent reports since then have continued to suggest they are interested.
Indeed, a report at the end of December stated that they were now ‘above all’ in the race for his signature and Fussball Transfers appear to be backing that up.
There’s no indication that they’ve made a move as yet but with a lack of strikers, perhaps that could change this month. In Germany at least, they think they’re in the mix either way.
