Manchester United’s  Diogo Dalot has shared his delight at playing for the club and what he’s learning alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dalot has been with Manchester United since 2018 following a €22m move from Porto but has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford in that time.

Last season saw him spend a year on loan at AC Milan, where he impressed, largely due to his versatility.

He returned to Manchester full of confidence and has found himself in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team this season as a result of a recent suspension for Aaron Wan Bissaka.

Whether he can keep his place remains to be seen but just playing for a big side like Manchester United is something he is extremely proud of.

“It is visible that whoever does it is privileged, in the national team and in the club,he told Record.

“Having that opportunity (to play with Ronaldo) is to take away the best possible. It is a privilege and an enormous pride.”

A bonus for the Portuguese full-back is that he is currently playing in a club side alongside compatriots such as Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The latter returned to Old Trafford this summer, of course, in arguably the most interesting move of the summer transfer window in England.

His return to his former club has already seen several commenting on how he is behind the scenes, with it believed many of the youngsters will learn plenty from him as a result.

That is certainly the case for Dalot, who is impressed by what he has seen so far from his Manchester United teammate.

“The way he prepares, how he interacts with his colleagues on and off the pitch, being more professional would be difficult,” he added.

“Having these expreriences is a privilege, and it only confirmed what I thought when I arrived at the Seleção.

“For the younger ones, who grew up watching him play, it’s a source of pride and brings us the responsibility of wanting to improve every day and experience, like him, being on the best stages.”
