According to Fanatik’s Galatasaray journalist Yakup Cinar, Galatasaray are interested in signing Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic ahead of the January transfer window.

After picking up just 24 points in 16 games, the Turkish champions will be looking to strengthen their squad in January, and signing a central midfielder is a priority for them.

Galatasaray are likely to part ways with Steven Nzonzi and Jean Michael Seri in January and Cinar claims Matic could be a good addition for the Turkish champions.

The Super Lig side have also been linked with a move for Kayserispor’s Bernard Mensah, but Cinar claim those Mensah links come directly from the player’s agent. He adds the Manchester United midfielder is now Galatasaray’s prime target.

After the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Matic has been playing second fiddle to Scott McTominay, and a move away from the club could be a possibility.

His contract will expire at the end of the season and that makes him an ideal candidate for Galatasaray, although there is an option to extend for a further year.
