Paul Pogba is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season and is set to leave Old Trafford as a free agent for the second time in his career.

The Red Devils will need to bolster their midfield in the next window, especially if the Frenchman were to make a move elsewhere.

For the past few weeks, the Italian media have named Sergej Milinković-Savić as a target for the Premier League side. The 27-year-old is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain.

La Lazio Siamo Noi state the player’s former manager, Simone Inzaghi, dreams of having him at Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri ‘really like’ the Serbia international, but their Serie A counterparts are asking for ‘a lot of money’.

Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito, who initially asked €100m for his star, is looking to sell him for a fee between €70m and €80m. ‘Not for less’.

Inter, however, cannot meet these figures and should find an alternative to secure the Serbian’s services. They are aware Maurizio Sarri likes Andrea Pinamonti ‘a lot’.

The Italian champions could use the 22-year-old, who is valued at €15m, and another player, as part of a deal to sign Milinković-Savić.

However, Lotito doesn’t favour this operation as he ‘just wants cash’. This seems to favour the star’s foreign suitors like Manchester United and PSG.

The report states: ‘United seems to be ahead of all, and PSG which closely follows the evolution of the situation’.

Although Inter and Juventus held talks with Milinković-Savić’s agent, they may not be able to meet the demands set by the Lazio chief. An ‘important economic force is needed’ to convince Lotito to sanction his prized asset’s sale in the summer.
