After questionable rumours sending Shkodran Mustafi and Nicolas Otamendi to Inter while the easier option of Eliaquim Mangala was available, it seems logic is prevailing for once and the Serie A side are close to getting the Frenchman.

Clearly not in Pep Guardiola’s plans, the former Porto star is reportedly edging closer to his move away from the Etihad, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Italian website explain that the latest negotiations between the two sides were rather successful, meaning everything is heading in the right direction.

Inter are said to be quite confident of getting the deal over the line, which, for now, seems to be a loan, although whether there is a clause to make it permanent depends on the report.

TuttoMercatoWeb don’t specify in theirs, simply stating it will be a loan, and we might have to wait and see until announcements to get a better idea of what could happen in the future.

One thing appears more and more certain, however, and that’s Mangala’s future being far away from Manchester before 2019, when his deal with the Citizens (or is it Cityzens these days?) is meant to come to an end.
