As Ikay Gundogan’s deal with Manchester City expires at the end of the season, he’s already free to sign a pre-contract with any other club.

And it seems his agent is already at work to find the midfielder a new destination. At least according to what we see in the Spanish media today.

Journalist Gerard Romero reveals that the representative of the Manchester City midfielder hald a meeting with Barcelona on Thursday.

Gundogan’s agent reportedly spent all morning at the headquarters of the Catalan side, and was filmed when leaving the facilities.

Romero points out that with the player being free of his contract with Manchester City in the summer, he’s a ‘very real’ option for Barcelona.

Gundogan remain being an important player for Pep Guardiola’s side, having 31 appearances this season and captaining the team in most games, but the rumours about a switch to Barcelona have been on since the last summer.

The Catalan side aren’t in a position to be making heavy investments, and that’s why his contract situation with Manchester City makes him a perfect target for them, who apparently won’t wait for the end of the season to negotiate.
