Wolverhampton Wanderers have accepted Manchester City’s latest offer for Matheus Nunes, and he is set to move to the Etihad.
That’s according to journalist Loic Tanzi, who says Manchester City’s new bid for the Portuguese midfielder has been enough to convince Wolves to sell.
Nunes has been linked with a move to Manchester City over the last week or so as they look to secure a new midfielder to cover the loss of Kevin De Bruyne after he was ruled out for a few months with a hamstring injury.
An initial bid was rejected by those in charge at Molineux after it was deemed less than their asking price, but the midfielder has since gone on strike in an attempt to force through the transfer.
Wolves were remaining firm on the matter, and it appeared he would be staying as initial indications were that Manchester City would not go as high as required to get him.
It appears that is not the case, though, with Tanzi now reporting that their latest offer has been accepted by Wolves.
According to him, that means Nunes will be joining the Premier League champions sooner rather than later and, he adds, Wolves have already started looking for a replacement, a further sign there is an expectation the deal will go through.
