Manchester City loanee Kayky is on his way back to the club.

Globo Esporte writes that despite the player’s loan spell at Bahia, which was supposed to last until the end of the year, he was now called back to England.

Kayky recently had a knee injury, and it was already known he wouldn’t be able to play for the Brazilian club again during this spell.

According to Globo Esporte, the player went through surgery in London and is set to start the recovery process in Manchester, while there’s no timetable for him to be back on the pitch.

Kayky was signed by Manchester City on a €10m deal from Fluminense in 2021, and only made two appearances for the English club.

Last summer, he was loaned to Portuguese club Paços Ferreira, and in January, he switched to Bahia.

Since Bahia also belong to the City Group, we wouldn’t rule out the possibility that the striker gets back to the club in the future.

He’s just 20, and his contract with Manchester City runs until 2026, so there’s plenty of time for them to watch him develop.
