Former Sweden boss Erik Hamren has broken his silence over the criticism he received from his players. Hamren stepped down as the manager of Sweden after Euro 2016, but has been questioned by the likes of Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson.
The Swede said he doesn’t like to hold onto the past, and therefore doesn’t think he now needs to discuss these matters. Harmen revealed he could talk about his former players, but doesn’t think there is any point.
“I do not want to hold on and discuss those things. I could also go out and talk about lots of things, but I do not. I see no reason for it,” said Harmen when asked about Jansson.
Since joining Leeds United in the summer from Torino Jansson has been a revelation, but has struggled to get games with Sweden in recent months. During Hamren’s reign Jansson question the coach’s tactics, although his frustrations may have come from him not getting any playing time in France this summer.
