Newcastle United might be interested in signing Jorge Jesus, but it doesn’t look like that wish is reciprocal.
Paulo Vinícius Coelho, one of the most reliable journalists in Brazil, writes today that the manager wouldn’t be keen on taking charge of the Magpies.
In his blog on Globo Esporte, he writes he’s spoken to people close to the manager who said that ‘sportingly’, there’s no attraction for the Premier League side.
It’s claimed it’s been a while since Jorge Jesus isn’t concerned about money, and that’s why he hasn’t even opened negotiations with any Chinese clubs.
According to the story there are five clubs who Jorge Jesus dreams of taking charge of. These are Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Porto. In the case of the Portuguese side, that would mean he’d have managed the three biggest clubs of his home country.
But the problem is that none of them look likely to make a move for him in the summer, and that’s actually good for Flamengo, who are negotiating the renewal of his contract, which expires in two months.
Paulo Vinícius Coelho also writes that Newcastle’s priority is to sign Mauricio Pochettino.
