Club Brugge have identified Brighton & Hove Albion’s Steven Alzate as a target for the next window.

The Seagulls allowed the 24-year-old to spend the 2022/23 season on loan at Standard Liège, where he played under Ronny Deila’s orders. The manager has agreed to join Club Brugge from July 1st but has already started working behind the scenes on transfers for his new club.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to state Deila would like to bring the Brighton owned player with him to Club Brugge in the summer.

According to Tavolieri, the Jupiler Pro League side’s incoming manager already ‘spoke’ to the player to make his transfer desire clear.

Club Brugge are ‘inclined to satisfy’ the coach’s request and could approach the Seagulls over a deal for the Colombia international after the end of this season.

After a loan spell at Standard Liège, Alzate will have to return to The Amex, where he has a deal until 2024. Both Roberto De Zerbi and Brighton may have to make a decision on his future in the summer.
