A doubt prior to the game against Arsenal, Paul Pogba surprisingly started the fixture for Manchester United, and even completed the 90 minutes.

This surprised many, who thought he might have been taken off after a set period of time as precaution, but the Frenchman finished the game, and now the Old Trafford side could be facing the consequences of their actions.

United released a statement on Wednesday explaining that after further consultations with a specialist, Pogba would needed added time to recover from the ‘foot injury’ picked up against Southampton in August, and would miss the game against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

Further details were said to be following, and L’Equipe appear to have them already, as they report the midfielder is also expected to miss the two upcoming France games against Turkey and Iceland as he has an ‘ankle’ problem.

That suggests the player will therefore also sit out the weekend clash against Newcastle in the Premier League in order to ensure he comes back fully fit after the international break.

L’Equipe end their article by stating that while further tests are needed to fully determine how long he’ll be out for, they reckon it will be ‘two to three weeks’.
