It’s no secret that Flamengo are close to announcing the permanent signing of Andreas Pereira from Manchester United.
Even though the Rio de Janeiro side had until the next summer to trigger the €20m buying option over the player, several reports have been claiming that there’s a deal with the Red Devils to get the purchase done for only €10.5m.
That’s a huge discount, but still, the signing has been questioned lately because of Pereira’s poor form in Brazil. Reports even claimed that people at Flamengo had been trying to convince the president of cancelling the agreement.
However, new claims say this is not happening. And now, journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira comes up to report that only one signature is missing for the deal to be concluded.
On Twitter, he claims the agreement is ‘verbally closed’ for days and is already ‘signed’ by Manchester United, and all that’s left is for Flamengo to officially put pen to paper.
Reports last week said the Brazilian club had only been waiting for the weekend’s game to complete the transfer, so that should be announced any time now.
