On Thursday, we relayed an article from Calciomercato claiming that Juventus were getting closer and closer to signing Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian.

The Red Devils’ full-back was said to be ‘determined’ to get his move in the summer, and with the reigning Serie A champions after him, it’s a no brainer.

With a contract running out next summer and José Mourinho hardly using him at Old Trafford, the Italy international’s future certainly appears to be somewhere south of Manchester, beyond the Channel.

Piggybacking on Calciomercato’s claims, Corriere dello Sport have their own version of story, with a big spread on the matter and a bold front page stating “Juve: Darmian coming”.

The headline mirrors the content of the article, with the Italian newspaper claiming that the continuous work in trying to convince him to join them has reaped its fruits, and the defender is now ‘in their hands’, having seen off the local competition.

We then get the reasons behind their interest (his age, his experience and his versatility), and now Darmian waits, hoping that everything between the two clubs gets sorted, returning to a city where he made a name for himself during his time at Torino.

Manchester United just need to play ball now.
