Having recently cancelled the loan of Obbi Oularé and sent him back to Watford, Zulte Waregem are once again looking at the Premier League for a new young striker to help them this season.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws in Belgium, the Jupiler Pro League side have invited Manchester City’s young French striker David Faupala for a trial as they evaluate him before making a decision over a loan for the remainder of the campaign.
The 19-year-old had previously been loaned to NAC Breda in Holland, but was deemed surplus to requirements for their second half of the season and was swiftly shipped back to Manchester City on the 2nd of January.
Whether or not Zulte end up with Faupala on their books depends entirely on the player and his performance at the trial, but with Pep Guardiola’s side clearly keen to see him get experience, another loan would certainly do him the world of good.
Of course, he then actually has to play, which, looking at the number of opportunities Obbi Oularé was given at Zulte during the first half of the season, might not be that easy.
