Despite repeating to the press during the Euros that he had had no contact with either Manchester City or Barcelona about a possible transfer move, Nolito is still being sent to the north of England by Mundo Deportivo.
As far as the Spanish newspaper are concerned, the Premier League club will make the transfer official ‘in the coming hours’, which, to be honest, could be anytime between the moment this article is published and the end of next month.
Mundo report the Celta Vigo forward has already signed his contract with Manchester City during his time in Paris and even travelled to England on Wednesday in a private jet.
The Premier League side will trigger his €18m release clause in two instalments and the forward will rejoin Pep Guardiola, a manager he already knows quite well from his time as a Barcelona player.
The Spanish newspaper make it clear Manchester City might not be the best option for him, as there already is a lot of competition in his spot with Raheem Sterling and Samir Nasri in the squad.
That being said, will both be there by the start of the new season? Sterling, probably, but Nasri? We’re not so sure.
