Manchester City have become the latest club to be credited with an interest in Jude Bellingham.

The England international has drawn attention from several clubs, while Borussia Dortmund are hoping to tie him down to a long-term contract. His current deal runs down in 2025.

Sport1 chief reporter Patrick Berger named Manchester City when discussing the 19-year-old’s suitors during ‘Die Dortmund-Woche’ podcast.

Berger claims that Pep Guardiola’s side are in the mix to sign the midfielder but have not taken any concrete steps so far.

“There are many clubs that are already on him. Liverpool Real, City, Chelsea, United – everyone threw their hats in the ring. But it’s not yet so far that you can talk of anything concrete,” the journalist said.

Recent reports have indicated the ex-Birmingham City star has an asking price of €150m. According to Berger, the German club have not yet slapped any valuation on their star.

BVB, at some point, will part ways with the player. When that happens, it is definitely going to be a sale of over €100m as far as the German media are concerned. The club doesn’t want it to happen in the coming windows.

Bellingham currently earns €4m per year and Dortmund’s idea is to improve his salary with a new contract.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl met the teenager’s father, Mark, and his agent, Mark Bennett, a few weeks ago. However, the midfielder has not been offered a new deal with better conditions.

A move to Manchester City will see Bellingham reunite with his former teammate, Erling Haaland. According to Sport1, the Premier League winners think this could make them the favourite to bring the player back to England.

Dortmund, for their part, are in ‘good spirits’ regarding retaining their prized asset in the ‘medium term’.
