Le10 Sport on Wednesday give us the prime example of covering your backside with a story about Manchester CIty’s interest in Tanguy Ndombele.

To get a good idea of what’s going on, it’s worth going back to the end of August, when the same outlet stated Pep Guardiola had asked for a scout to be sent to France to watch Nice-Lyon, where the target was said to be Wylan Cyprien.

The young midfielder is finding his form again after a very bad knee injury, and it was claimed the Spaniard had been a fan of his ability prior to his setback, and was keen to see how things were going now that he was back on the pitch.

However, since then, RMC Sport in France reported that Manchester City had seen a bid of €50m rejected by Lyon for Tanguy Ndombele, and now Le10’s story has magically been updated.

What do we have on Wednesday? The French outlet claiming, as an exclusive might we add, that, on top of Wylan Cyprien, the Cityzens’ scout was also keeping an eye on the Lyon midfielder.

Is it a coincidence? Not in the slightest.
