It’s been a while since the Portuguese media started expecting Nuno Mendes to leave Sporting this summer.

With the fullback’s great first season in the Lions’ first team, several big clubs started getting interested in him, and the move seems inevitable.

Newspaper O Jogo today features a story claiming that the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid are now set to make a new evaluation of him during the Euros.

It’s claimed that a transfer would only be done after the start of Sporting’s pre-season, probably while Mendes is enjoying his vacations.

O Jogo writes that Sporting now demand €65m for the move, and would accept that part of it is made of performance goals.

There’s also the possibility that Manchester City could have an advantage over Manchester United and Real Madrid, since Pedro Porro is currently loaned to Sporting.

The Lions can buy the Spaniard for €8.5m, and the clubs could end up finding a double agreement.

O Jogo claims that Nuno Mendes should leave for the will of ‘both parts’, his and Sporting’s, so his exit from the Lisbon side is looking quite likely indeed.

Even though Manchester City and Manchester United have been linked to him for longer, it now looks like Real Madrid could be strong competitors as well.
