Thiago Alcantara’s move to Liverpool from Bayern Munich is ‘fixed’ with the deal expected to be completed quickly.
That’s according to Sport Bild, who back up claims from England that the midfielder is on his way to Anfield.
Reports in England this morning, via The Athletic, claimed that Liverpool had finally sealed a €30m deal with the German champions over the Spanish midfielder, who they have been chasing for much of the summer.
That same report indicated he had already agreed on personal terms with Jürgen Klopp’s side and that the transfer should be completed post-haste.
They say the move is ‘about to be announced’ and that the ‘transfer is fixed’ with the ‘decisive steps’ to make it happen having been taken since Monday.
They make no mention of personal terms or a medical, but the statement that the deal is ‘fixed’ seems to be their stating that those sort of details have already been sorted with Liverpool.
It now remains to be seen how his imminent arrival affects the future of Georginio Wijnaldum, with the Dutchman heavily linked to Barcelona and this move opening the possibility of that happening, at least in theory.
