If Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday are to be believed, Daniel Sturridge’s stock has dropped considerably overnight.

Either that or they have very different sources to Corriere dello Sport, who claimed on Monday Liverpool wanted €2m up front with a view to buy at €25m in June for the England international.

According to Gazzetta, the Reds are now ready to make a deal for a free loan with an ‘obligation to buy in June at €15-18m’.

This, however, does not fit in Inter’s plans, who, like in the Rafinha deal, want to have the option to return the player back to sender, rather than be forced to spend money on a striker who could very well flop in his first experience abroad.

Furthermore, if Liverpool were to accept the Serie A side’s terms, they would also have to wait on Eder’s transfer away from San Siro, with rumours sending him to very different destinations: China or Crystal Palace.

It’s rare the information between two newspapers differs this much, but it’s also what makes the transfer window interesting.

It gives you an idea about how many ‘sources’ there actually are, with each newspaper having their own newsfeed from clubs.
