Liverpool midfielder Fabinho was one of the players to have spoken to Brazilian outlet Esporte Interativo last night.

The 25-year-old commented on the 4-3 win over RB Salzburg, which gave the Reds their first three points in the Champions League this season.

Liverpool went 3-0 up against the Austrians, and won’t have expected Red Bull to get it back to 3-3. Fabinho was asked if they should’ve taken less risks when winning by such a large difference, and he agrees.

“At the time of 3-0, we lost a two or three balls in midfield for that very reason, this desire for more and more, always wanting to go ahead,” Fabinho told Esporte Interativo.

“But it was at a time when the team was a little stuffy already. I think if we had stayed more with the ball, it would be a little better. But it’s a lesson for the upcoming games and that’s it.”

Brazilian reporter Fred Caldeira also asked Fabinho to explain the feeling of playing in Anfield’s atmosphere, since Liverpool fans were crucial for the team to get the win despite conceding three goals.

“It’s an inexplicable feeling to play here at Anfield. With each goal we conceded, they began to sing stronger, to support us more. Now for the last ten minutes, which was a little difficult too, they kept supporting us, encouraging us until the end. And we’re used to it, with this amazing crowd like that. So it’s really lucky to have such a support.”

Two Brazilians who play for Liverpool celebrated their birthdays last night, Roberto Firmino and Alisson. Fullback Andrew Robertson also had a word with Esporte Interativo, and was asked specially about the striker’s day.

“He’s usually the one gifting other people. Just a normal day for Bobby in the football sense, and a big happy birthday to him, and luckily we got the three points in the end for him.”
