Already linked with Schalke 04 and Inter, Liverpool’s Divock Origi has also been given the opportunity by those offering him around Europe to head to Spain.
At least, that was their aim, according to Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, who took to Radio Kiss Kiss to reveal the latest surrounding Atlético Madrid and their apparent interest in Arkadiusz Milik, relayed by Il Calcio Napoli.
The bottom line is that Diego Simeone, who recently agreed to let Diego Costa end his contract early, wants a replacement for the Spain international as quickly as possible, and he’s instructed his director of football, Andrea Berta, to find him someone.
While Milik is an option, Venerato claims there are other names being evaluated, including that of Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette.
Not only that, but he adds: “[Berta] was offered Loren Moron (from Real Betis), as well as Origi”.
This suggests whoever is in charge of finding the Liverpool striker a new club is reaching far and wide to do so, so far targeting Serie A, Bundesliga and now La Liga.
The Belgian has struggled for game time under Jürgen Klopp this season, and has seen his time on the pitch decline even more than previously since the signing of Diogo Jota.
It seems clear an exit would be best for all parties, even if it was a short-term one.
We’ll have to wait and see if Atlético bite if they can’t get Lacazette.
