Liverpool are planning a double swoop for Inter Milan midfielder Nico Barella alongside Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister this summer.
That’s according to Inter Live, who say the Reds are planning a €130m swoop for the duo in a double body blow to the Italian side.
They explain that Liverpool are planning a ‘real revolution’ of their midfield in the summer transfer window, and it is not only Barella who is in their sights.
They will also target a move for Mac Allister, who has been impressing for Brighton this season and played a role in Argentina winning the World Cup in Qatar.
They had ‘chewed on’ the idea of signing the midfielder again and again in recent months but have had no success in getting anything arranged to date because they simply cannot afford his €70m valuation.
That therefore leaves the path to him free for Liverpool, but they don’t plan for him to be the only midfield addition as they also like Inter’s Barella.
He’s a player that Jurgen Klopp has ‘always liked’ and there is a belief that they could reach as much as €60m to get him out of Inter and pair him with Mac Allister in a €130m deal.
That is a big figure to pay, of course, but with a similar fee being demanded for Jude Bellingham, the suggestion is that the pursuit of the Englishman has been abandoned to instead fund a double swoop that will end up breaking Inter, and Brighton, hearts instead.
