There’s been a lot of talk of late about Mikel Arteta and the good work he has done at Arsenal over the past couple of years, with the Gunners board showing that patience and trust can go a long way when a manager has a vision.

The London side are currently top of the table with a fairly young squad, but they know that with Champions League football next year to add to their already busy schedule, they will need strength in depth.

For Arsenal, that will also means some experience might need to be added to their squad, which is where one of the latest players to be linked to a move to the Emirates comes in, courtesy of Foot Mercato in France.

The man is Wilfried Zaha, with the French outlet explaining the Ivory Coast international’s contractual situation (it expires at the end of the season) has made him an interesting target for many clubs.

Arsenal are among those, and it’s said the Gunners are ‘really hot’, having ‘once again expressed their interest to the entourage’ of the forward, who is one of the better dribblers in the Premier League.

It seems the idea of bringing in a player like the former Manchester United man is being seriously thought about at the Emirates, as he would be yet another weapon for Arteta to use in his attacking system.

It’s added that the ‘possibility of seeing Arsenal make a firm offer’ for the player is ‘judged more and more serious’.

Something to really keep an eye on then.
