Liverpool are in the picture to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Mario Lemina, according to Foot Mercato.

The defensive midfielder has made ‘quite a good impression’ since he arrived at Molineux from OGC Nice in January. He also impressed in his side’s defeat to Manchester United on Monday.

His displays at Old Trafford and for Wolves this year haven’t gone unnoticed. It’s claimed Lemina is of interest to three Premier League sides, with Liverpool ‘in particular’.

Having lost several midfielders including Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, Jürgen Klopp’s side are in the market looking for a new player in the same position.

Foot Mercato doesn’t give out the details of the other two clubs but do state the Premier League trio have to deal with the competition from Saudi Arabia to sign the 29-year-old.

Lemina’s contract is until 2025, with an option for another year. He’s happy at Wolves but the report states a transfer ‘cannot be ruled out for the very courted’ player.

The Wolves star isn’t the only midfielder on Liverpool’s agenda. The list reportedly also includes Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat. With several options, it’ll be interesting to see how will end up at Anfield.
