With Liverpool still in need of reinforcing their midfield, the French media today reveals a new target that Jurgen Klopp’s side have in sight.

According to Foot Mercato, the Reds are ‘very interested’ in signing Boubacar Kamara from Aston Villa this summer.

The report highlgihts how the midfielder’s ‘qualities are numerous, and his versatility is an asset’, and that’s what makes him a wanted man for Liverpool.

The problem is that Aston Villa are ‘not sellers’, and Unai Emery doesn’t want to let the player go.

Foot Mercato says that makes the situation ‘complicated but not impossible’ for Liverpool, as they want Kamara signed ‘more than ever’.

There’s no information on how much Aston Villa would potentially demand for the sale, or how much the Reds are willing to spend on the signing.

Last summer, Kamara was a free agent following his exit from Marseille, and arrived at the Villans for free, signing a five-year contract.

He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €37m, so even though Emery wants to hold him, that’s still a good chance to make a great profit.
