Liverpool are already eyeing Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes, according to reports from Brazil.

UOL journalist Bruno Andrade claims that as the Reds ‘intend to invest heavily’ in improving their midfield, they discuss about anticipating their summer targets for January.

Matheus Nunes has just joined Wolves following a €45m move from Sporting, but despite his recent arrival, he’s said to be ‘one of the names on top of the list’ of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

It’s said the player ‘has been followed and evaluated from close’ by the Reds ‘for months’, and his adaptation to the Premier League is seen as ‘an important factor’ for him to become a target.

According to Bruno Andrade, Jorge Mendes is also a big figure in this possible deal.

That’s because the agent has a ‘close and trustful’ relationship with Liverpool director Julian Ward, as they both worked on the arrival of Darwin Nunez.

For now, there’s no information on how much Wolves would demand for Matheus Nunes, who joined the club on a contract until 2027, with an option for an extra year.
