Following initial reports in the Italian media claiming Leicester City had submitted a €34m offer for Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez, we saw the Italian club quickly dismissing it, saying those are ‘only rumours’ for now.

It turns out that newspaper Corriere Fiorentino today features an interesting story about this situation, claiming it shouldn’t be ruled out that the Foxes are advancing for that signing.

The outlet opens the possibility about this proposal existing, but it has only been ‘hypothesised’ to agents, with whom there have been talks with Leicester City since Christmas and which have ‘further intensified’ in the last few hours.

Therefore, that bid has not yet been ‘concretely presented’ to the club, but if it is, there would be chances of a deal, since Fiorentina could sell the player for the ‘right figure’.

Leicester City should just be aware of the competition they have from Atletico Madrid, since Nico Gonzalez ‘would prefer’ that option.

And in case this whole operation collapses, the Foxes would still find an alternative at Atalanta.

Jeremie Boga said to be the ‘first candidate’ after Gonzalez, and also a cheaper option, since his club only ask for €20m.
