Leicester City are finally about to pay for Adrien Silva’s transfer from Sporting, the Portuguese press reports today.
According to Portuguese newspaper Record, after admitting there’s now no chance of winning any appeal and registering Adrien before the winter window, the Foxes can now turn their attention to other issues and finally send the Lions the money.
The lack of payment had already been reported a month ago, when Leicester were criticised by a sports lawyer for blaming the Fifa problem while Sporting had nothing to do with it.
But Record writes that there are no hard feelings between the clubs. There was never a threat that the Premier League side would not honour the deal, so it was a matter of time until it was done.
It’s claimed Leicester have told Sporting the payment will be made in the ‘next few days’, although it’s still unclear how much will be transferred this time.
Meanwhile, Adrien Silva has been training with Leicester City’s first team, as he waits to be allowed to finally debut for the club in January.
