French side Rennes and Serie A club Fiorentina are keen on Leicester City striker Islam Slimani this summer.
That’s according to France Football, who say Rennes have ‘made progress’ on signing the striker but are yet to reach a ‘final agreement’ for the Algeria international.
The website explains that a Rennes ‘spoke with Leicester’ about Slimani ‘a few days ago’ with a proposal to buy the player for €5m.
They have also made a ‘contractual proposal’ to Slimani, although it not made clear what sort of deal that the French side have offered him at this moment in time.
Rennes may need to move quickly if they want to secure his signature, though, as they are not Slimani’s only option.
He has also been ‘approached’ by Fiorentina over a move there, and it’s stated that they could ‘soon position themselves’ for the striker.
