Former Arsenal and Manchester City right-back Bacary Sagna is still trying to find a new club, despite interest from sides including Leicester City.

Despite spending ten years at top Premier League sides, it seems there’s something stopping other clubs from signing Sagna since his contract with Pep Guardiola’s side expired.

At the end of the last season, it was widely known Manchester City wouldn’t offer him a new deal, so the player had an entire summer to find himself a new destination.

Italian website Tutto Mercato Web now comes up with a story saying Lazio are considering the possibility of signing the right-back.

They would be joining the list of other interested sides including Inter Milan, AC Milan and Wolfsburg. The Milan interest seemed to be more from the player’s side, with him even speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport and praising both the city’s clubs.

But if all this interest is real, why is Sagna still unattached Is he demanding too much money, or just not good enough for these clubs? It’s been over two months since the start of the season now.

It sounds something is blocking him from finding a place to play, because any average player could find a destination in a top league, especially with the history he has.

Leicester City made their interest public, and it’s unclear whether the managerial change will have any impact on that. The Foxes certainly have a fair chance, given it’s nearly November and Sagna remains without a club, it could be time to kickstart the Leicester efforts.
