Considering the last reports from the Spanish press, it seems that Leicester City will have some competition to sign Ricardo Pereira from Porto in the summer window.
According to Deportes Cope Valencia this week, the Mestalla club are also keen on the player, and will have him as a target in the transfer window.
Leicester City’s interest in Pereira has been confirmed by Sport Witness a week ago, so that should make quite an interesting battle for the 24-year-old at the end of the season.
Now there’s one especially interesting snipper of information published by Cope, and that’s Pereira’s price. They claim that the right-back should cost between €15m and €20m.
That’s a bit strange to read, because Portuguese clubs are used to doing big sales, and Ricardo Pereira’s great season would be a good reason to demand more money.
The player officially has a €25m release clause, even though recent reports have claimed a new agreement raised the number to €37.5m. In any case, €15m-€20m sounds too little for a player of his potential, especially with Leicester City and others interested.
