For the past month or so, reports in Italy have explained Leicester City’s Dennis Praet has been on Torino’s agenda for the winter market.

The Serie A side haven’t managed to agree a deal with the Foxes for the midfielder, who was on loan with them last season.

Leicester are interested in Perr Schuurs and after Inter Milan and Roma, it was their turn to make an approach for the Torino player.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who state Brendan Rodgers’ side are ‘offering’ €28m plus Praet, to secure the centre-back’s services in January. The English club value Praet at €8m and this will take the overall cost of the deal for the Dutchman to €36m.

Torino consider the Belgium international’s valuation set by Leicester to be high because he is 28-years-old and has struggled with injuries. They value him at €6m, meaning the deal for Schuurs would be worth around €34m.

This is not sufficient to please Torino and they will ‘decline the offer’ from Leicester. The Italian club’s aim is to collect much more than €34m for the defender.

At most, Torino would try to close the deal for Praet immediately in exchange for a first refusal for Schuurs, likely for the summer.
