Hoffenheim are aware of Leeds United’s interest in signing Georginio Rutter in the winter market.

That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who took to Twitter to provide a short update on this case.

Plettenberg claims ‘Leeds United want him now’, meaning in the current window, and further adds the forward is open to making a switch to Elland Road.

Rutter joined the Bundesliga side from Rennes in 2021 and enjoyed an impressive campaign last season. He scored eight goals and registered five assists from 36 matches, and has two goals and three assists to his name this season.

The Frenchman has a deal until 2026 and the talks between Hoffenheim and the Whites are for a deal of around €30-40m. The Sky Deutschland journalist states it could become a ‘massive deal’, likely for the German club.

Jesse Marsch’s side are keen to bring the attacker to the Premier League side in January and Rutter is open to joining them. A deal could be sealed if Leeds can find an agreement with Hoffenheim for the player’s transfer.
