Leeds United summer signing Rob Green has said the team can’t be perfect every week following the defeat to Derby County last weekend. Leeds United tonight clash with Wigan Athletic, and will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a good run of results.
Speaking to the YEP, Green said nobody at the club can play to 100% of their ability every game, but believes the Elland faithful realise this. The Leeds United No.1 highlighted they aren’t Barcelona with the likes of Lionel Messi, and therefore it is expected players can make mistakes.
“For me, the atmosphere’s realistic. No-one’s going to play a perfect game of football every week and no-one’s going to get everything 100 per cent right. We aren’t Barcelona and the supporters who come to Elland Road aren’t watching (Lionel) Messi. With Messi, he misplaces one pass and everyone raises their eyebrows,” said the Leeds United goalkeeper.
Green was Leeds United’s seventh signing in the last transfer window, and has been in impressive form this season. The 36-year-old recently revealed he would like to extend his stay at Elland Road, and that he has an option of another year with the Championship side if he makes a certain amount of appearances.
