Former Leeds United midfielder Peter Lorimer believes Garry Monk is still trying to get his team settled after making 12 new signings in the last transfer window. Monk was installed as the Leeds United boss in the summer, but the Championship side have won only one league game so far this season.

Speaking to the YEP, Lorimer said he can see Monk’s dilemma at the moment because a lot of players were brought in late in the window so he thinks this will take time. The former Scotland international knows August’s results were disappointing, and it wasn’t the ideal start for Leeds United and Monk.

“With Leeds I feel that Garry Monk is still trying to get his best team settled in his head. He’s new to the club, a lot of players have come in and some of them quite late on. It’ll take him some time to feel like everything is settled. Last month was an obvious disappointment. You always want a good start and we haven’t come up with it.”

Leeds United currently lie 21st in the league after five games, and need to get back to winning ways in the West Yorkshire derby this weekend against Huddersfield Town. Their local rivals currently top the Championship with 4 wins and a draw.
