Leeds United defender Robin Koch is travelling to Germany today ahead of completing a medical with Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of a season-long loan deal.
That’s according to BILD, who say the player will be at the club today to undergo ‘a medical check’ ahead of his move from Elland Road.
The newspaper reports that Koch, whose contract with Leeds runs until 2024, can join Eintracht on loan after the Whites were relegated from the Premier League last season.
The Bundesliga side are keen to take advantage of a clause in his contract and have moved ahead of the competition to get him, with Manchester United, Newcastle and Bayer Leverkusen all showing an interest in him.
They were ‘left behind’ by Eintracht’s efforts and Koch is currently travelling to the city where he will undergo the required medical tests ahead of completing the move.
A deal for the defender is ‘fixed’ and he is set to become the German side’s latest signing after they completed the signing of Ellyes Skhiri yesterday.
He will initially arrive on loan for this season, and the plan is then for the Bundesliga side to ‘sign him up’ on a free once they are able to, from January onwards.
