For ever a month the French media have discussed Leeds United interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Arnaud Kalimuendo.
These reports continue as L’Equipe name the Whites, Rennes and OGC Nice as the clubs keen on the forward.
PSG are currently struggling to offload some of their better known players. Their leaders are of the belief it will be easier to sell the France U21 international.
In order to continue at Parc des Princes, the 20-year-old is asking for more game time, which Christophe Galtier’s side cannot promise him. In addition to this, PSG are looking to sign another attacker, who has a different profile to that of Kalimuendo.
All these factors would suggest an exit is on the cards and Leeds are among the clubs in the mix to sign him.
L’Equipe state Jesse Marsch’s side have been the ‘most active club for several weeks’ and they have already made an offer in excess of €20m. As it stands, Leeds are not a priority for the attacker.
Nice included him in their target list, and their interest will become more serious if they fail to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram.
Meanwhile, Rennes have established direct contact with Kalimuendo, but their sporting director, Florian Maurice, believes they have left it too late.
To sum it up, Leeds are the ‘most active club’ on this case and have made an offer worth over €20m. If the Premier League side can convince the PSG player, then there is a deal to be done this summer.
