Not wanting to spend time in the Championship with Leeds United after relegation, Rasmus Kristensen ended up being loaned out to AS Roma.

This is a team that already had two right-backs, although they were planning on getting rid of Rick Karsdorp, which didn’t end up happening.

That’s why the Leeds loanee was then left out of his new club’s Europa League squad, and this is now causing more problems, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

This is because Galatasaray are interested in signing Zeki Celik on loan from AS Roma, but their attempts were met with a ‘dry no’ from the Serie A side.

The reason for that is the club weren’t able to include the Leeds player in their Europa League squad, and allowing the Turkish defender to go would leave them short at right-back for the competition.

That’s why José Mourinho ‘blocked’ the possible loan of one of his two players in the role, making this deal between Roma and Leeds more and more of a mess and now seemingly unnecessary.

Add on top of that the fact Kristensen has been anything but good for both the Italians and his national team of late, and it seems like it could be a long season for the Dane.
