Over the past few days, we have seen an increase in stories sending Sasa Lukic, currently at Torino, to Leeds United.
The Whites were interested in the player back in the summer, but nothing ever came of it, and the midfielder remained in Italy, where he has continued to play an important part for the Serie A club.
That being said, he has made his ambitions rather clear, and was even recently asked about the prospect of a move to Leeds.
He sees his future away from Turin, and this has sparked more and more rumours about a move to Elland Road, while AS Roma are also looking at him.
It’s been made clear by Davide Vagnati, the club’s director of football, that ‘€15m are needed’ to get a transfer done.
That’s when Leeds are mentioned, as it’s said both them and Roma ‘would be in the front row’, but the Whites have an advantage.
That’s because José Mourinho’s side ‘does not have that amount to spend in January’, while such a fee probably wouldn’t put off Victor Orta and his staff.
It’s added that once he returns from the World Cup, Lukic ‘will have a direct confrontation with the Torino management to ask for the transfer’.
