In a very strange story on Thursday, there is a claim that Napoli want to try and sign an Arsenal defender should Kim Min-jae be sold this summer.

That’s according to Sport24 in Russia, as they cover the story following information from a source close the matter.

The reason for this is because Napoli, as well as the Arsenal defender, are also keeping an eye on CSKA Moscow defender Igor Diveev.

The source states that it’s ‘highly likely’ that Kim will be sold this summer for a ‘large sum’, and quite a few defenders are being looked at by Napoli to replace him.

They state that leaders at the Serie A side ‘want to make an offer’ for William Saliba, as well as for Igor Diveev.

Out of the two, the latter is the ‘more attractive’ option, as he would cost less, which makes sense considering how important the Frenchman is to Arsenal these days as they lead the Premier League and are on their way to picking up the title should no collapse occur.

Something to keep an eye on, but it seems highly unlikely that Saliba would want to leave London next summer, even for an exciting team like Napoli.
