When Watford announced the signing of Matheus Martins from Fluminense in December, there was a little confusion regarding the player’s arrival.

That’s because the Brazilian media many times reported that the player’s move was being negotiated between the Rio de Janeiro side and Udinese.

It was always claimed the Italian club could loan Martins out to Watford, but when the Hornets made their statement, they did’t say it was a temporary deal.

That raised doubts even in the Italian media, and Tutto Mercato Web now comes up with a story to make things clearer.

The outlet points out that according to Serie A’s official website, Martins was purchased by Udinese and then loaned out to Watford.

It’s not yet clear how long his loan at Vicarage Road will last, although it’s initially expected to run until the end of the season, with the Pozzo family then taking a new decision.

The player was recently registered by Watford, and now waits for his first chance to play for the Hornets and help in the quest for the promotion.
